Lamesley Parish Council is looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated person to fill the role of clerk to the council and responsible financial officer. This is a part-time opportunity to work with the local parish council with the flexibility to work from home. Equipment will be provided. The clerk will support the council with a focus on preparing and attending monthly meetings, providing guidance at the meeting and following matters arising.
Key tasks will be: acting as an adviser and ensuring the council follows sound governance practices, preparation of agendas actions, management of accounts, banking, VAT and budgets, preparation of annual audit and accountability return, management of the council’s website.
Essential criteria are: to hold or willingness to obtain ILCA qualification, excellent administration and communication skills, good organisation, experience in preparing agendas, financial accounting and experience in using IT (emails, word processing, spreadsheets, internet). Previous experience as a parish clerk would be an advantage.
